aria finn play-by: natalie portman INSANE. DEPRESSED. MANIPULATIVE. perhaps best described as the anti-hero to this plot, aria finn has made her name in destroying the lives of those around her. born into wealth and privilege, she had the perfect background to live a happy and comfortable life, but as she’s said herself, she isn’t supposed to be happy. educated abroad until she was fourteen, aria was at one time, a sweet and normal teenaged girl. the exact moment when she turned into the evil bitch she’s been since then is hard to pinpoint. she blames her sad existence on two people, trent peters, her ex flame, and his wife, her former friend, the evil whore, camilla. she has one child, serafina, whose father is trent, something aria hates to admit. she thrives off of the pain of others and puts a bit too much effort into making trent and his wife feel uncomfortable. her two greatest joys are vodka and cigarettes, but honestly, she’d drop it all in a second if trent agreed to take her back. you see, the thing is, she’s never really gotten over him. eighteen years is a long time to pine over a man, and she’s ended up a bit bitter. aria finn lacks morals and could care less. she won’t rest until everyone around her is just as miserable as she is. trent peters play-by: heath ledger HERO. TEMPERAMENTAL. FUCK-UP. he started out with the best of intentions, an australian native, trent and his late sister chelsea, moved to new york and soon rose to the top of the social scene. while he was relatively easygoing, trent often found himself in deep water. he didn’t want to hurt anyone, but always ended up hurting everyone. the father of two girls, with two different women, trent tries to be there for those who need him. he wants to keep his wife, camilla, happy, but has some trust issues with her after she admitted to an affair with an old high school friend. and then there is aria, they are like oil and water and yet, for some reason, they can’t stay away. he could honestly like to see her happy, but there is nothing he could do to make both the women in his life happy. like mothers like daughters, his two girls couldn’t be more different and are always vying for daddy’s attention. he doesn’t play favorite, but there is a certain rivalry between them that no amount of personal time would heal. trent really does want to be a good person, but his temper can get in the way. he’s made mistakes, and tries to make up for them, but it is never really enough. FRAGILE. the innocent israeli ballerina who knew nothing of the world outside of her dance school, camilla found herself in the middle of a love triangle soon after moving to new york. camilla should have known better than to trust those around her, but how was she supposed to know how the world worked? her short lived friendship with aria finn was over the moment camilla set her eyes on trent peters. the two were a happy couple, despite the early road bumps, and are still married. their daughter, olivia, is camilla’s pride and joy, but her son, matteo, is a bit of a black sheep. a short lived affair with leo johansson, a high school fling, resulted in a son, who she tried to pass off as trent’s. though it didn’t work. after brief separation, trent and camilla reunited, to her pleasure. but there is unspoken tension between the couple, she wants to be a part of her son’s life, and trent wants her to stay away from that boy and his father. and then there is camilla’s fears over the relationship between trent and aria, even after eighteen years, the two women can’t be in the same room with each other, and camilla can’t shake her nagging worries. serafina finn play-by: ANXIOUS. CONTROLLING. WISTFUL. serafina finn (at one point in time, serafina peters-finn) considers herself to be the martyr. she comes from a family of crazies, and she doesn’t enjoy admitting to that fact. she hates no one more than her mother, though her step mother and half sister are tied for a very close second. serafina worries constantly over the love of her father, and is convinced that he doesn’t love her as much as his real daughter, olivia. she has serious control issues and struggles with various anxiety disorders, her mother keeps her heavily medicated, but now that she’s eighteen, there is only so much aria can do to control her daughter. although serafina wishes her mother were dead, the only thing aria wants is a little bit of affection from her daughter, but she won’t get it. when she isn’t destroying something belonging to her mother, serafina tries to spend as much time as possible with her father, after all, she figures the more he sees her, the more he loves her. she is hopelessly embarrassed by her background, and would do anything to hide it. sometimes, she wishes her mother had put her up for adoption, it would have saved her a good deal of emotional childhood trauma. like having her hair dyed brown at the age of four. or piercing her own bellybutton at the age of seven. olivia peters play-by: bar refaeli INSECURE. OVERACHIEVER. WILD. the only legitimate child of any of the members of the love triangle, olivia has a sort of vanity associated with that fact. she isn’t particularly close to her half-brother, and loathes her half-sister, simply because they are always at odds. in fact, there was never really a time when the sisters got along, and olivia wouldn’t have it any other way. she tries to live up to her mother’s expectations, but sometimes finds herself subpar, she’s taken extreme measures to achieve her goals, and the results can be disastrous. in truth, olivia really just wants to be accepted by those around her, and to settle the sister battle once and for all. she doesn’t see why she shouldn’t be the favorite, after all, she is trent’s real daughter, and camilla’s real daughter. she is the proof of their love, right? her jealousy and worry can be all consuming at times, but no one pays it much mind, they are too busy with their own problems. and so, olivia has taken it as her own personal goal to ensure her happiness, and that of her family, no matter the consequences. she just wishes that serafina and her mother would drop off the face of the earth, everything would be so much easier without her father’s second family. lucy katz play-by: natalia vodianova WHORE. INDIFFERENT. CALLOUS. whore is the word most frequently associated with lucy, and she loves it. she is as dumb as a post and wouldn’t have it any other way. her cousin ryan is sort of like the male version of her, making them a slightly frightening team. she doesn’t care what people think of her, and will sleep with anyone and everyone so long as they don’t want to get clingy. she considers herself to be a good person, though no one else does, and in truth, she knows she’s not. lucy doesn’t want to grow old, and has developed a serious peter pan complex. she doesn’t believe in love and thinks the idea of the traditional life is horrifying, children scare her. in fact, the last time a child approached her, she screamed and ran away. perhaps lucy marches to the beat of her own drummer, or perhaps she is really just insane, either way, she enjoys the life she leads. sure, she isn’t going to win miss congeniality, but that doesn’t matter in the end. she wants to go out with a bang, and at the rate she’s going, lucy will most definitely do so. at some point, maybe lucy will grow up, but until then, she’ll go on living in her fantasy land, and hopefully, no one will ever have the horror of joining her there. shane johansson play-by: marcus hedbrandh LONELY. TRYING. BLACK SHEEP. the bastard child of two married adults. the product of an affair. a mistake. all his life, shane has been reminded of his place in between two families. he's very close with his father, leo johansson, because he's the only person who's ever been a real parent to him. his mother, camilla, wanted to raise him to the best of her ability, but it just wasn't possible with their situation. leo's wife piper divorced him and left with their legitimate son liam after the truth about camilla's second pregnancy was revealed. it also temporarily broke up the peters marriage, so the children of those various marriages have long since held grudges against shane. he's a good kid with a good heart, and he wants a normal family life that he just can't have. he's extremely creative, a musician and artist who uses both outlets to cope, and a sensitive romantic at the core.
